The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) achieved a record in advance ticket bookings on its mobile application, with 88,626 passengers reserving their journeys on August 26, 2026. This marks the highest single-day booking total in GSRTC’s history.
A press release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) credited the milestone to the state government’s focus on providing clean, safe and secure travel, guided by Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi. The GSRTC mobile app has become increasingly preferred by passengers for its convenience.

Previously, GSRTC’s highest recorded single-day mobile bookings were 85,247 on November 4, 2024, and 85,205 on October 25, 2025. GSRTC has developed modern mobile applications to ease travel; the ‘GSRTC Ticket Booking’ app facilitates digital ticket purchases, while the ‘GSRTC Track Live’ app offers real-time information on bus timings and locations.
Separately, on August 25, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi inaugurated 500 additional ‘112-Janrakshak’ vehicles for the Gujarat Police fleet at Nava Sachivalay in Gandhinagar, increasing the total to 1,000 vehicles deployed across the state for emergency response. These vehicles are part of efforts to enhance rapid and efficient emergency services.
The Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office reported that advances such as a 150-seat call centre, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, and caller location technology have reduced the average police response time to 10 minutes and 49 seconds. The goal is to reduce this time to below eight minutes. The 112 emergency panic button feature has also been integrated into ride-sharing apps including Ola, Uber, Rapido and Bharat Taxi.
Minister of State Kamlesh Patel remarked that Gujarat remains a leading state in ensuring public safety, and the 112 emergency service will enable faster and more effective assistance to citizens.
Since the Janrakshak Project’s launch 11 months ago, the integrated service centre has handled over 1.104 million emergency calls, and police have provided immediate aid in over 674,000 incidents.
