Holi Special Trains: Indian Railways has announced the operation of 1,244 Holi special train trips across the country until March 18th to facilitate passengers on the occasion of Holi. The stated objective is to provide safe and comfortable travel. These special trains will connect major cities and capital cities across the country.

This will help passengers secure confirmed seats and reduce congestion on regular trains. The Railway Ministry stated that these arrangements have been made in view of the increased number of passengers during Holi.

1,244 Holi special train trips will be operated until March 18th, 2026. This number can be increased to 1,500 if needed.

These will be the special trains

According to officials, major long-distance special trains will run from Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur to Danapur, Gorakhpur, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Samastipur, and Barauni. Special trains will also run from Visakhapatnam, Puri, and Bhubaneswar to Shalimar, Patna, Yeshwantpur, and Dhanbad.

Additionally, major cities in Bihar and Jharkhand, such as Patna, Darbhanga, Saharsa, and Dhanbad, will be connected to New Delhi, Anand Vihar Terminal, Chandigarh, and SMVT Bengaluru.

In the Eastern and Northern Railway Corridors, connectivity will be enhanced between Howrah, Sealdah, Kolkata, and Malda Town, Raxaul, Madhubani, Gorakhpur, and Anand Vihar Terminal. Stations in the Delhi region will be connected to Varanasi, Lucknow, Ayodhya Cantt, Haridwar, Amritsar, and Katihar.

In South India, special trains will run from MGR Chennai Central, Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram North, Coimbatore, Secunderabad, Tirupati, and SMVT Bengaluru to Patna, Barauni, Muzaffarpur, Santragachi, Ajmer, and Jaipur.

In Western India, additional train services will be available from Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, and Bandra Terminus to Kanpur, Katihar, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Darbhanga, and Bhagalpur.
